Norfolk Wildlife Trust is holding a free apple afternoon at Filby Community Orchard with plenty of activities to celebrate this favourite fruit.
Join us on Sunday 5 October, 3-6pm at Filby Clubroom, Main Road, Filby for free activities including making apple bird feeders; tasting and peeling challenges; apple pressing; and arts and crafts activities. Refreshments will be provided by the Filby and Districts Women’s Institute.
At 5pm there will be an ancient good luck procession known as ‘Wassail’. We’ll be walking in celebration of Filby Orchard with masks, music and lanterns. Gather outside Filby Clubroom at 5pm to take part in the Wassail.
Gemma Walker, Living Landscape officer for Norfolk Wildlife Trust said: “Come along for a really fantastic afternoon. We’ll be having lots of fun with apples, including discovering how peeling an apple can help you find your true love’s name. If you have any apples please bring them along to be pressed into apple juice, turned into an apple bird feeder or used in one of the many apple activities. There is no need to book, just come along and join in.”
All activities are free (small fee for refreshments).
