Join us on Saturday 2 July!
A huge range of free wildlife activities – from guided walks to a massive bioblitz – will be taking place on Saturday 2 July as Norfolk Wildlife Trust, Scarning Parish Council and Scarning Conservation Volunteers are joined by many organisations to celebrate the wildlife of Scarning Water Meadows.
Take part in guided walks, pond dipping, minibeast hunting and a wildlife spotter trail. You can meet the experts, make bird boxes, bird feeders and minibeast homes. There is no need to book and all activities are free.
Get involved in our Bioblitz as Scarning Parish Council, Scarning Conservation Volunteers and a whole host of wildlife experts try and find more than 200 different animal and plants on this fantastic County Wildlife Site.

Living Landscape Project Officer, Gemma Walker said: “Scarning Water Meadows is an amazing County Wildlife Site and this day has been organised to celebrate the wildlife found on it. We will be spending the day recording as many different animals and plants as we can, plus there are a whole range of activities taking place to help people explore and discover this wonderful site. Come and join in. Plus If you cycle or walk to the event you will receive a free wildlife activity pack.”
The event is part of Norfolk Wildlife Trust’s two-year project County Wildlife Action, made possible by National Lottery players thanks to a grant of £81,600 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), to work with local communities to visit, enjoy and learn about the wildlife on more than 100 local sites.
