Our guide will lead you on a circular walk, exploring the  different habitats of the reserve. You will discover the variety of wildflowers that we have on site.  (Walking will include some uneven ground and could be up to a distance of 2.5 miles)

A wander around NWT Holme Dunes looking for interesting flowers, plants and butterflies seen along the way. It will include orchids in season. Please wear sturdy footwear.

A circular walk of the reserve in the company of the reserve warden. Hear about the history of NWT Hickling Broad reserve and how it has changed over time, discover what life is like as a warden in this unique and beautiful environment of the Norfolk Broads. (Walking will include some uneven ground, up to a distance of 3 miles.)  

Call notes and songs are often the best way to recognise birds. Join David North on a walk through Cley's varied habitats and discover how to tell a singing reed warbler from a sedge warbler. Listen to the wild voices of lapwings and redshanks and enjoy a world of bird sounds on a walk around Cley Marshes.  Walk length approx 3.5 miles including 1 mile along shingle.

Help us clean up our shore to benefit coastal wildlife. There is always lots of exciting wildlife, and we often find mysterious marine objects along the shore too. In the event of adverse weather please contact the visitor centre in advance to check for cancellations. All equipment provided. Meet at the Cley beach car park.

Please note the early start time of this event. It can be very chilly before sunrise (which will be around 5:15am on May 5th). Join us on a guided walk through the reserve before taking a magical boat trail on Hickling broad. Celebrate the arrival of spring and witness one of nature’s miracles, the dawn chorus. Please bring binoculars.  A light continental breakfast is included. (Water trail is 2 hours from 5am) Walk length approximately 2 miles

Join Wymondham Nature Group for a guided walk to see bluebells and other spring flowers. Learn about coppice management, enjoy the woodland biodiversity, and finish with tea and cake. Level 2 walk, moderate with stout footwear.

You will learn some fascinating facts about this rare and elusive marshland bird. Listen out for the booming call of the male bittern as we near Bittern hide, as they try to attract a mate.
