PLEASE NOTE: We are currently carrying out some improvements to the Simon Aspinall Wildlife Education Centre, which is closed to the public. Access to the reserve is unaffected and the visitor centre, café and shop remain open. Built into the hillside, our award-winning visitor centre offers panoramic views across the coastline and makes the perfect spot to rest and refuel while exploring this magnificent reserve. 

A warm welcome awaits you after a winter’s walk on the marshes. Or you can cool off on a hot summer’s day exploring Norfolk's impressive coastline. Our Cley and Salthouse Marshes visitor centre has something for everyone, every day of the year.  

Enjoy a range of locally sourced seasonal food and drinks from our café. Visit our gift shop for nature-inspired gifts and accessories including binoculars, books, bird seed and much more. Discover more about Norfolk’s incredible wildlife at the Simon Aspinall Wildlife Education Centre.

We serve hot and cold drinks, homemade soups, delicious handmade cakes including gluten and dairy free options, cream teas, toasted tea cakes, and seasonal bakes. We use locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and we offer vegetarian and vegan choices too.

We host exhibitions all year round by local artists reflecting on the natural world, and the wildlife and wild places of Norfolk. 

Cley Spy

Our optics partner, Cley Spy, has a wonderful and extensive selection of binoculars, scopes, and other accessories.

Wheelchair accessible and open only during centre opening times. 

Events and walks

Learn about this special reserve on one of our regular guided walks and fun family activities, supported by our team of friendly and knowledgeable volunteers.

Opening hours

Visitor centre and café opening hours are: 

March to end of October: 10am – 5pm.

November to February: 10am – 4pm (closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).

Please note the café closes half an hour before the centre.

Our hub for learning and events, the Simon Aspinall Wildlife Education Centre is where you’ll find events, exhibitions, activities, and interactive displays.
