Music, relaxation and poetry events are new to the centre
Plenty of opportunities to get stuck in!
Our new events programme at Cley Marshes is for those who know a lot, a little or nothing about wildlife. It’s for those who love art and music as much as those who enjoy wild spaces.
We have a series of family events, workshops, exhibitions, talk and performances. Click on the pictures below for information and dates.
We also have a series of regular events at Cley, all of which need to be booked as places are limited. Please call the visitor centre on 01263 740008 to book a place. All regular events are £3.50 NWT members and children, £5 non-members.
Marine Mondays – First Monday of the month, 10.30am – 12.30pm
Join us for a stroll along the shingle ridge exploring the strandline. Discover the secrets of the sea and how coastal wildlife has adapted to survive life on the edge.
Conservation at Cley – Second and fourth Tuesday of the month, 10.30am – 12.30pm
As we walk around the reserve you will discover the huge variety of wildlife that calls Cley Marshes home. NWT staff will explain how we manage the site for wildlife and discuss our future plans for the land of our new living coast area.
Walk with the Warden – First and third Wednesday of the month, 10.30am – 12.30pm
Bernard Bishop has been the warden for more than forty years, and is the third generation of his family to work at Cley Marshes. Hear about the history of Cley, how the reserve has changed over time and what life is like as a warden on a coastal nature reserve.
Bird Events – Intermediate Thursdays throughout the year, 10.30am – 12.30pm
The focus of these sessions will change throughout the year and will include spring migrants, breeding birds and autumn migrants, waders and wildfowl and winter birds. See our whats on pages for dates.
Beach Cleans - First Saturday of the month (Free event), 10.30am – 12 noon
Help us clean up our shore to benefit wildlife. Meet in the beach car park.
Birds of Cley – Every Sunday, 10.30am – 12.30pm
Are you new to bird watching? Or want to learn more about the birds that visit Cley? No matter what your age, join us for a walk onto the reserve, and into the hides to discover an array of birds. Please bring binoculars; a limited number of binoculars can be hired from the visitor centre. Perfect for anyone new to birding, who wants learn more about the birds at Cley.
Throughout the year we will be offering free events in the afternoons. These taster sessions will give you the chance to discover the variety of events we have on offer, and get a glimpse of the wildlife that lives at Cley. To find out when taster events are on, call the centre in advance or check the ‘What’s On’ notice at the visitor centre.
