The Visitor Centre at Cley Marshes will reopen
Sunday 15 March. This three week closure has enabled essential maintenance and refurbishment, as the build of the Simon Aspinall Wildlife Education Centre at
Cley Marshes draws near to completion.
The nature reserve and car park will remain open (although entrance and exit arrangements may be affected) and there will be temporary toilets available.
A cabin in the car park will allow NWT staff to give information to visitors, sell passes to the reserve for non-members, and provide a small retail area and basic refreshments such as tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits.
When the centre reopens on Sunday 15 March, visitors will start to enjoy the changes being made, including a new reception area and facilities such as an electronic ‘what’s about?’ screen to replace the current white board; a new exit, which leads to a courtyard area and a viewing deck; new tables, chairs and benches; and new facilities in the kitchen area. Cley Spy will re-open its shop in the DBO thatched building.
Chief Executive of Norfolk Wildlife Trust, Brendan Joyce said: “It is very exciting to be getting near to the completion of the new education centre at Cley Marshes. We thank all our members and visitors for bearing with us while we take this opportunity to make improvements to the current visitor centre. The nature reserve remains open. Do come and visit the re-opened visitor centre from Sunday 15 March, and the Simon Aspinall Wildlife Education Centre which opens its doors at Easter!”
