About the event
This talk follows the fortunes of the Glaven ports from soon after being made a Head Port in 1786 through its decline and eventual demise at the time of the First World War. It examines the effect of two Acts of Parliament; that setting up the Blakeney Harbour Company and the 1821 Wiveton and Cley Enclosure Act. Other topics examined include the trade the ports were engaged in, the vessels using the port and who owned them, wrecks and rescues, embanking, the coming of the railways and the final days of the port. This talk is illustrated using photographs artwork and data. It is a fascinating period to discover. Price includes a light lunch.

Dogs
No dogs permitted on the reserve. Visitors with dogs can walk Beach Road, along the shingle bank (northern reserve boundary) and East bank.
