About the event

Ros is a practicing artist based in Sheringham with an MA in Fine Art Printmaking from Birmingham School of Art (1993).
Ros Copping’s work experiments in capturing memorable episodes of the interplay between people, creatures and place, using carved lino that imitates expressive brush work. Sometimes using reduction printing, mono printing and hand colouring and usually printed by hand to capture spontaneous marks and textures.
By being outside Ros records what is seen on the North Norfolk Coast and uses structured compositions to create energy, and limited brush marks on the lino to only include necessary remembered parts of the story.
Her narrative style turns everyday scenes into colourful and memorable moments. Every month she creates a lino print from the landscape around the North Norfolk coast to reflect weather, season, and the feel of North Norfolk. These lead to paintings suggesting energy and expressing remembered fragments in time.
