We love hearing from you as we enjoy and support Norfolk’s amazing wildlife together.

We receive a very high volume of calls and emails and whilst we will do our best to respond, we may not be able to reply to all general wildlife enquiries. 

Unfortunately, we are unable to respond to enquiries related to wildlife identification and sick or injured animals outside our nature reserves.

Frequently asked questions

How can I report a wild animal in distress?

Please be aware that we do not have an animal rescue service, however you can report sick or injured animals to the RSPCA on 0300 123 0709 who can offer support and advice. You can find details about their wildlife rehabilitation centres here.

How can I report injured livestock on Norfolk Wildlife Trust land?

If you see any livestock (sheep, cattle or ponies) on our nature reserves in difficulty or distress please call our emergency grazing team number 07769 710369. 

What should I do if I have an urgent concern about something on your reserves?

If your concern is urgent (for example, you feel you have witnessed illegal activity or an accident), please contact the emergency services. If you have urgent but non-emergency service concerns, please call 01603 625540. If your concern is not urgent, please fill in the form below or send us a message on social media and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Where can I get help with my wildlife ID questions?

Our website contains hundreds of information sheets on UK wildlife species including facts and photographs. If you are hoping to identify a species, head to our  Species explorer pages.  
   

How can I share my wildlife photos with you?

We’d love for you to help us celebrate the diversity and beauty of Norfolk’s wildlife by posting your photos on Instagram with the hashtag #NWTGallery. Photos from this gallery can be enjoyed by everyone and are regularly shared on NWT’s Instagram account.

How can I find advice on making my community more wildlife friendly?

If you would like advice on making an area you own or manage more friendly for wildlife, including gardens, school grounds or public spaces, please visit our Help wildlife near you pages or contact wild@norfolkwildlifetrust.org.uk.

What should I do if I want to make a complaint?

To make a complaint, please give us a call or fill in the contact form below, selecting ‘I have a complaint’ in the ‘enquiry type’ box. 

Norfolk Wildlife Trust wants to exceed your expectations in everything we do. However, we know that there may be times when we do not meet our own high standards. When this happens, we want to hear about it, in order to deal with the situation as quickly as possible and put measures in place to stop it from happening again. 
 
We take complaints very seriously and we treat them as an opportunity to develop our approach. This is why we are always very grateful to hear from people who are willing to take the time to help us improve. 

We will acknowledge your complaint on receipt.  Please note that we strive to respond to complaints within 7 days but complex complaints may require longer.
