About the event

Join us for a summer evening at Weeting, timed for peak glow-worm activity in mid-June when the spectacle is at its most vibrant. We'll begin with a gentle guided walk through the reserve at dusk. As the light fades, we’ll listen out for some of the evening’s earliest risers—tawny owls, stone curlews, and other crepuscular wildlife that make the most of twilight. Once darkness has fully settled in, we’ll return to the car park area, where the magical green lights of the glow-worms begin to appear. This timing gives us the best chance of seeing a good number of glowing females before their brief season starts to wind down. We'll also explore their fascinating life cycle, including why their glow fades later in the summer. To make the most of the experience, we ask that visitors park a few metres away from the car park edges, leaving space for people to enjoy the glow-worms without obstruction. It’s a rare chance to experience the quieter, wilder side of Weeting, with some of nature’s most enchanting nighttime displays.

Please note that 10.30pm finish time is approximate.
