Creating a new meadow

Bursting with colourful wildflowers and buzzing with precious pollinators, the great British meadow is a vital part of our rural landscape.

Creating a new meadow can add valuable habitats for all sorts of wildlife to grow, feed, hunt, and rest. Meadows also play an important part in connecting separate habitats across the county, and in connecting people with wildlife.

Before creating a new meadow, it is important to consider what is present already. It would be unwise to create a meadow where valuable habitat already exists.
