PSH Environmental Ltd partners with Norfolk Wildlife Trust to launch new £45,000 conservation fundraising campaign.

PSH Environmental Ltd, based in Rackheath, Norwich, are proud to announce that they are working in partnership with Norfolk Wildlife Trust to restore woodland and biodiversity in Norfolk.

Over the coming three years, the Norfolk-based waste management company have pledged to donate £1 from every skip hired to re-introduce life to 12 acres of agricultural land adjacent to NWT Foxley Wood, found north-west of Norwich. The land has been a missing piece of this ancient wood for at least 1000 years.

The donations will result in an estimated £45,000 contribution to the conservation charity's work.

To the south west boundary of the wood is a 'U' shaped enclave, where historic woodland was felled for agricultural use many years ago. Norfolk Wildlife Trust has recently acquired this land and is planning a programme of natural and assisted regeneration for the enclave to become part of the ancient wood once more.

Each PSH skip hired will pay for the equivalent of 1 square metre of woodland restoration at Foxley Wood over the three year project. The funds will also support Norfolk Wildlife Trust to deliver community and schools engagement activities linked to the woodland.

Foxley Wood is a National Nature Reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) comprising 304 acres of North Norfolk's remaining ancient woodland. The reserve is an important habitat for a wide range of resident and summer visiting birds, mammals, invertebrates and a rich variety of woodland flora including orchids and bluebells.

Daniel Parker, PSH Environmental Director, says: "We are so excited to be provided with a unique opportunity to re-establish native woodland species.

"By working in partnership with Norfolk Wildlife Trust, we can enable our communities to purchase a service from a Norfolk company, in the knowledge that we are investing back into the county. Our customers will be able to visit Foxley Wood and see the project as it takes place. It's the complete circle and it's something we are very proud of.

"It is time for businesses to step up to the environmental task ahead, and we are proud to be at the forefront of this type of project. It means a lot to us to become a part of Foxley Wood's history, and provide a unique piece of nature for generations to come."

James Hogg, NWT Corporate and Membership Development Officer, says: "PSH Environmental, like us, have a deep care for our beautiful county. We are delighted to welcome them into our Investor in Wildlife scheme, which allows businesses in the area to support Norfolk's wildlife.

"Through this new initiative, PSH Environmental will be enabling NWT to restore a special woodland in Norfolk and helping to connect the local community to a wild and ancient place, where they can be inspired by nature and discover the importance of bringing rare wildlife back to the county."
