Norfolk Wildlife Services is a professional, experienced and dedicated team offering a comprehensive range of ecological and arboricultural consultancy services. All our profits are donated to our parent charity, Norfolk Wildlife Trust for the benefit of nature conservation in Norfolk.

Responsibilities

Our focus is on providing high quality ecological expertise to ensure our client’s projects move forward while ensuring protection and benefits for nature and wildlife. As a key member of the team you will undertake a wide range of ecological consultancy contracts on behalf of NWS clients including:

· Protected species surveys and assessments (including bats, great crested newts, water voles, reptiles, Schedule 1 birds)

· Site and Habitat surveys and assessment

· Conservation management advice (species and habitats)

· Ecological Clerk of Works on selected projects

About You

We are looking for someone with a degree in ecology or its equivalent as well as a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in ecological consultancy or equivalent sectors

You will enjoy working as part of a small, committed team and relish the challenge of working with a range of clients on different projects. In addition, you will ideally have:

· Experience of ecological field survey work.

· Understanding of relevant UK environmental legislation.

· Membership of (or working towards such) the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), or equivalent professional body with professional code of conduct.

· Experience in report writing (including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, management plans and Ecological Impact Assessments), and development of mitigation measures.

· A full clean UK driving licence.
