Sue Welfare - Edgelands: Wetland and shoreland birds
, NR25 7SA
About the event
Primarily a linocut printmaker, Sue’s work is inspired by the East Anglia’s diverse landscapes and wildlife, from the great open skies of the fens, to the far reaches of the north Norfolk coast, through to the wild, open, windy solitude of the salt marshes and wetlands.
Her prints are all hand printed from hand carved blocks on a traditional press, and created from her original sketches and photos. Self-taught, Sue began printmaking in 2018 after a career in commercial fiction. Her bold, simple designs have become a firm favourite with collectors and have been shortlisted for the Sir John Hurt Art Prize as well as being selected by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust for their Christmas Cards.
