About the event

Explore NWT Thorpe Marshes, in the Norfolk Broads, yet on the edge of Norwich in Thorpe St Andrew. It's a charming mix of grazed and ungrazed marshes, ditches and the open water of St Andrew's Broad.

Join local naturalist, Chris Durdin, for a meander at Thorpe Marshes and discover the reserve's wildlife.

Bring binoculars and a camera if you have them.

Know before you go

Dogs

On a lead

Visitors with dogs are invited to walk along the permissive path, keeping dogs on leads to avoid disturbance to stock and wildlife.

Meet at the pedestrian railway bridge at the end of Whitlingham Lane, NR7 0QA, which is accessed from the A1242 Yarmouth Road (not from Trowse) and is diagonally opposite Thunder Lane. Please also note that there is no parking on Whitlingham Lane.

Under 18s should be accompanied by an adult.

Events will take place in all weather conditions unless deemed unsafe. Please ensure that you dress appropriately for the weather with suitable footwear. Please be advised to take caution when walking on a site with open water and ensure that you always remain on the designated paths. Biting insects can be present at certain times of the year and you may choose to apply insect repellent as a precaution. In warmer weather, you may wish to bring a hat, sun cream and water.
