Know before you go

Dogs

On a lead

Visitors with dogs are invited to walk along the permissive path, keeping dogs on leads to avoid disturbance to stock and wildlife.

NWT Thorpe Marshes is located over the pedestrian railway bridge at the end of Whitlingham Lane, NR7 0QA, which is accessed from the A1242 Yarmouth Road (not from Trowse) and is diagonally opposite Thunder Lane. Please note that there is no parking on Whitlingham Lane.  

On arrival, make your way over the pedestrian railway bridge and onto our reserve. Follow the path straight ahead until you reach the gates of our education area, where you will be able to access our dyke dipping platform. Each family group must have at least one adult attending 

Important Health and Safety Information 

Events will take place in all weather conditions unless deemed unsafe. Ensure that you dress appropriately for the weather with suitable footwear. Biting insects can be present at certain times of the year and you may choose to apply insect repellent as a precaution. In warmer weather, you may wish to bring a hat, sun cream and water. 

Please also be advised to take caution when walking on a site with open water and ensure that you always remain on the designated paths.
