Cley and Salthouse Marshes,

Cley Marshes is on the north Norfolk coast, on the A149 coast road, 6km north of Holt. The visitor centre and car park are easily accessible on the landward side of the road. Entrance is located directly across the A149 coast road from the car park. The Coasthopper bus service stops just outside the nature reserve., Holt, Norfolk, NR25 7SA

About the event

These monthly longer walks, led by local author and naturalist David North, provide an opportunity to immerse yourself in the North Norfolk's coastal landscapes. Weather conditions on the day will determine whether we walk across the open coastal marshes to Blakeney or a more sheltered walk up to Salthouse Heath (Walk length approximately 5 miles).

No dogs permitted

No dogs permitted on the reserve. Visitors with dogs can walk Beach Road, along the shingle bank (northern reserve boundary) and East bank.

Important Health and Safety Information

Events will take place in all weather conditions unless deemed unsafe. Please ensure that you dress appropriately for the weather with suitable footwear. Please be advised to take caution when walking on a site with open water and ensure that you always remain on the designated paths. Biting insects can be present at certain times of the year and you may choose to apply insect repellent as a precaution. In warmer weather, you may wish to bring a hat, sun cream and water.

Tickets are non-refundable unless the event or activity is cancelled by Norfolk Wildlife Trust. In the event that Norfolk Wildlife Trust has to cancel an event or activity due to low numbers, extreme weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control, we will inform you at the earliest opportunity and will offer a full refund.
