About the event

Gary Hibberd has been the warden at NWT Holme Dunes for over 33 years. He will lead you on a circular walk , exploring the reserve's different habitats and learning about the wonder of the autumn migration in north Norfolk. You will learn how to identify the birds by sight and sound. If you are new to bird watching or just want to learn more, no matter what your age, join us.

Please observe signage on site and keep dogs under effective control or on a short lead to avoid disturbance to livestock and wildlife.

Dogs are welcome at Holme in the outside seating area of the visitor centre but we do not allow dogs into the café area.

What to bring

To get the best out of this walk, please bring binoculars if you have them. A limited number of pairs are available to hire at the visitor centre. (Walking will include some uneven ground, up to a distance of 2.5 miles. Sturdy footwear recommended)

Events will take place in all weather conditions unless deemed unsafe. Please ensure that you dress appropriately for the weather with suitable footwear. Please be advised to take caution when walking on a site with open water and ensure that you always remain on the designated paths. Biting insects can be present at certain times of the year and you may choose to apply insect repellent as a precaution. In warmer weather, you may wish to bring a hat, sun cream and water.

Tickets are non-refundable unless the event or activity is cancelled by Norfolk Wildlife Trust. In the event that Norfolk Wildlife Trust has to cancel an event or activity due to low numbers, extreme weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control, we will inform you at the earliest opportunity and will offer a full refund.
